Welcome to the Chris Kratt Gallery

Chris Kratt is a self-taught artist specializing in romantic realism. Working primarily from her studio in Cambria, on California's rugged and scenic Central Coast, Chris focuses on natural forms and detailed scenery.

From the brutal beauty of the sea to the natural denizens of Central California's rural environs - both human and wild - Chris tries to capture her subjects as true to nature as possible. Most of her work is based upon her own observations of the nature around her, as well as a large library of amateur photographs captured by her husband Bill.

Chris' eye for detail allows her work to stay faithful to her subjects. Her work is done primarily in oil on canvas, but she has completed numerous projects in both watercolor and acrylic on various media.

This site is dedicated to capturing Chris' complete gallery of projects from the 1980s to present, and as new work is completed and older work properly prepared for display and photographed, it will be added here.

Chris' artwork is available for viewing in her private studio by appointment, or at the many community exhibitions in which she participates throughout the year. Upcoming exhibits which will feature Chris' work will be announced here, in addition to any exhibits she plans to attend or featuring other artists she admires.
